I’m going to have to give the newsletter an impromptu break today… doing some maximum juggling and have a 3 pm hard stop for an event this evening.
So feel free to use this as an open thread. Have a local food issue you want to air? Ideas for new Local Food Forum stories and features? What you like about Local Food Forum (I LOVE compliments)? What you hate about Local Food Forum (I have a thick skin)?
Whatever you like, just keep it clean and civil…. Bob
I don't mind jumping on an open thread! A few weeks ago, Bob was the first to break the story about FarmFED Co-op, a cooperative we are starting in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, which would operate a fresh food processing facility bridging the gap between local growers and institutional buyers, such as schools and hospitals. We are still seeking owners! We need to raise $100,000 from the purchase of owner shares, and we just reached $36,900. Which is great progress, but we would love to have your support! The best way to learn about us is to follow us on Facebook and Instagram @farmfedcoop. If you would like to pledge, you can do so here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXImLmPCw5mVHicvoTj9cR7J50dKoQ7I5_McHoZPSj5FTAzw/viewform Also feel free to ask questions here or write us at farmfedcoop [at] gmail.com. Thanks for keeping this open, Bob!
Morning Jeff, So excited about your very needed coop project! I work with Sean Park at WIU and have been following FarmFed on Facebook and I am including the ownership drive info in our inaugural Heart of IL Local Producers newsletter. Cheers, Diana
Yes, an amazing effort. I'm praying for your success. Hopefully some people in Chicago with money to invest will read this thread. It's a very worthwhile venture. :)

Thanks, Jeff. Folks, FarmFED Co-Op is an amazing project with the potential to help farmers thrive financially and grow their production. If you're not yet familiar, check out our story: https://localfoodforum.substack.com/p/new-il-co-op-aims-to-help-farmers.

Oh that's excellent! Thank you! Can we be added to the mailing list for the newsletter, per chance?
Yes, of course! If you'd like to drop your email here or here's mine dl-blue@wiu.edu. Please let us know how we can further support.
