Farm Aid, the musician-driven non-profit that has worked since 1985 to support family farmers and to build a better food system, is holding its annual Farm Aid Festival on Saturday (September 21) in Saratoga Springs, New York. I've attended twice — here in Chicago in 2015 and last year outside Indianapolis — and it is such an inspiration that I'm flying east to cover it for Local Food Forum again.
But here's the good news... If you aren't attending, you can still watch the festival live online!
Get the details on the Local Food Forum website, which also includes the amazing lineup of talent. And long live Willie Nelson!
Chicago Region Farmers Market Schedule, September 20-26
Time marches on. Fall has snuck up on us, with the autumnal equinox happening on Sunday.
There was still quite a bit of summer produce at the Chicago market I visited on Saturday, but slowly but surely peak season is slipping away. The Local Food Forum website has the regional farmers market schedule for the next week to help you get your share.
