UI Extension Series on Healthy, Affordable Eating
Partnership brings new flavor and information to Local Food Forum
Introducing Eat.Move.Save.
In partnership with University of Illinois Extension and UI Health, Local Food Forum is happy to share the first installment of a series featuring healthy, tasty and affordable recipes. The series supports UI Extension’s Eat.Move.Save. program, which provides tips and information on how to eat healthy on any budget.
Thanks to Bianca Bautista of UI Extension Cook County, who reached out to offer the content to Local Food Forum, and who produced the following feature focused on a Winter Fruit & Spinach Salad recipe. Much more to come.
Hone Food-Growing Skills With Gardening Summit
Local Food Forum thinks it’s great when people grow their own food, or become serious gardeners providing community access to hyperlocal food. If you are one of these folks, you may consider attending the free Thriving Farmer Vegetable Summit, which takes place online this Thursday (January 11) through Sunday (January 14).
According to the Summit’s website, attendees will learn how to create a thriving vegetable farm or homestead with advice from 27+ successful veggie growers and sellers, and will get free training on planning, producing and selling veggies fresh from your farm or homestead.
