There was just a hint of sunlight amid the early Friday morning cloud cover. By late morning, the skies opened into a bright, sunshiny day.
Bundle up and have a great weekend.
Study Cites Soil Health Benefits of Regenerative
Advocates of regenerative agriculture practices may encounter pushback from those who doubt its efficacy in promoting soil health. A new study paper by the Illinois-based Basil’s Harvest nonprofit provides scientific evidence that regenerative agriculture is a powerful tool for preserving and building our precious soils.
“Soils managed through reduced tillage and utilization of diverse cover crop strategies, such as those that include legumes incorporated with a small grain (i.e., winter wheat), have greater potential to increase both soil organic matter and plant available nitrogen pools,” reads the summary at the beginning of the six-page paper.
The text is very technical with much statistical analysis, but definitely worth your time to better understand the science behind the regenerative agriculture movement.
