I Can See Clearly Now
The short pre-Thanksgiving work week opened with a bright, sunshiny day. Hope it’s an omen for all of us to have a beautiful week ahead. Photo by Bob Benenson.
Food Nonprofits: My Appeal to Help Your Appeal
There are so many great nonprofits that are working, individually and in partnerships, to help build a better food system. I already knew a lot of people in this sector from my past work with FamilyFarmed, and it has been my pleasure to develop broader and more collaborative relationships since I launched Local Food Forum in April.
I know from my experience with FamilyFarmed’s annual end-of-year appeals that this is one tough environment: Nonprofits in our sector, most of them relatively small, have to compete with the much larger fundraising machines of big national organizations for Giving Tuesday and Annual Appeal dollars.
I surely don’t have the financial resources to help much here, but I do have this newsletter, and I am more than happy to share your pitches with our readers.
If you are a nonprofit leader or development manager, all I ask of you is that you send a short blurb (1-3 paragraphs) summarizing your fundraising pitch; a link to more information/donation page on your website; and a meme/graphic if you have one. I’ll take it from there.
This offers expires December 31, 2021, and I will share any Giving Tuesday info if you send it to me by this Sunday.
Local Food Forum got your back…
