Wishing joy, happiness, warmth and good food to everyone.
Sending compassion and hope if your burdens are heavy this holiday season.
The weather outside is frightful — way too cold — but this morning’s sky show included a little sunbow (in the middle of the photo).
For the record… The forecasters weren’t that far off on their snowstorm forecast — the lake effect kicked in a few dozen miles across the lake in Michigan and Indiana — but they were spot on about the bitter cold and wind. While we didn’t get much snow here in Lakeview, it’s not going anywhere fast, so we can declare it a white Christmas.
Barb and I had a lovely pre-holiday outing on Wednesday, attending a matinee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s “Merry, Merry Chicago.” It was fun and lovely, and they had a visit from Santa Claus to amuse the kids of all ages. We’d had the tickets for weeks, and the timing turned out to be perfect, a day before the weather turned ugly.
On the way to the bus home, we stopped by the Millennium Park skating rink. It has been decades since I strapped on ice skates, but it’s pleasant to watch folks of widely varying skill levels in this beautiful downtown setting.
That’s all, folks. Have a weekend of making happy memories, and I’ll be back Monday.
Happy holidays from Hobbes.
