Real Organic Project Accepts Applications for 2025 Certification
Real Organic Project — a non-profit founded on the belief that food needs to be grown in soil to be labeled organic — is accepting applications for its 2025 no-cost certification program.
Real Organic Project grew out of pushback against the USDA rulings that, under certain circumstances, crops grown hydroponically without soil and animals raised in confinement rather than pasture could qualify for USDA organic certification. The divisions over USDA standards are among the biggest controversies within the sustainable agriculture community.
