Holiday Stocking Up? Don't Miss These Markets
Most winter markets are open this weekend but then closed for the holidays
D+ Weather
The sun continues its march to its southernmost extreme on the winter solstice next Wednesday. At least that’s what I presume, because we have not seen the sun for several days.
It’s not that unusual for December to be pretty gray, as Chicago historically averages a little less than four hours of sunshine a day. But we could use a little break in the clouds. If this keeps up much longer, I may have to double my Vitamin D supplements.
This Weekend’s Illinois Farmers Markets
Here is the weekend schedule for winter farmers markets across the state of Illinois. Thanks to the Illinois Farmers Market Association for the helpful listing on its website.

How’s Hobbes?
Well, our new B.O.B. (Big Orange Boy) cat has made himself right to home from the minute he arrived on Monday. And as you can tell from the photo, he fits right into the little Benenson family.
