Green City Market Chef BBQ's Labor Day Sale
This weekend, grab a $20 discount for next Thursday's highly anticipated event
Over the Moon
Not a day goes by that Barb and I don’t recognize our great good fortune to have stumbled into our view when we moved to Chicago in 2011. But there are times when the beauty of this place’s natural environment just leaves you breathless.
Last night, with the super blue moon illuminating miles of Lake Michigan right into Belmont Harbor, was one of those times.
Get a Discount for Green City Market’s Chef BBQ
Hard to believe that this is September eve already. And one week from today (September 7), Green City Market is presenting its annual Chef BBQ — one of Chicago’s most-awaited annual tasting events.
And my friends at the non-profit farmers market organization inform that they are having a Labor Day sale: starting Friday, click the button below to go to the ticket site and used the code LABORDAY20 to receive $20 off. Ticket purchases must be made from Friday through 11:59 p.m. Monday.
There are well over 100 restaurants, craft breweries, regional distilleries, wineries and more, including many of the biggest names in Chicago’s food world. And in terms of the opportunity to say hello to (and sometimes be served by) top chefs, the Chef BBQ is unparalled.
If you have been to this event before, you know (and you probably already have your ticket). If you’ve never been, take advantage of the discount and go. You will not regret it.
This weekend’s regional farmers market schedule follows a couple more pretty pictures.
The Lake Was Angry Yesterday, My Friends
I’ve spent a lot of time over the past 12+ years by Lake Michigan taking photos of mighty waves crashing. A stiff easterly wind (and autumn-like temperatures) lured Barb and me to the lakefront near Belmont Harbor yesterday. The old inland sea put on quite a show.
Nothing much fazes the local geese, though.
