• Fall is Coming, Ready or Not
• Visit Some City Chickens on September 25 and 26
Those are some beautiful winter squash from Nichols Farm & Orchard at today’s Green City Market. I love winter squash. Practically live on it during the winter.
I just don’t know if I’m ready for it yet.
But ready or not, the fall crops are hitting the local markets, with still a couple of weeks to go before the Autumnal Equinox.
The weather is just gorgeous today. Doesn’t feel a bit like winter.

I learned today that the Windy City Coop Tour will take place on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26. Time slots each day to visit folks raising chickens in Chicago are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Home to Roost Urban Chicken Consulting and supported by Advocates for Urban Agriculture, who describe it as follows.
The Windy City Coop Tour is back for its 10th year showcasing backyard poultry, eco-yards and urban livestock across Chicagoland! The Windy City Coop Tour provides access to local examples of the broader nationwide movement toward sustainable yards.

Well, Bob, we're 8 days into meteorological Fall already, so our chagrin must be tempered with reality.
