Corn Again: My Yearly Ritual With Three Sisters Garden Renewed
This Year's First Batch of a Trademark Region Crop
This morning was an occasion for the local food-centric Benenson household: We received our first home delivery of this season’s sweet corn from Three Sisters Garden in Kankakee, Illinois.
I don't want anyone — especially other farm friends — to get me wrong: There are a lot of regional farmers who grow excellent sweet corn. But for many years, sweet corn has been a signature crop for Three Sisters Garden's Tracey Vowell, a friend who I admire greatly.
See what that corn (and some cabbage and summer squash) looks like in this Local Food Forum article, and learn about farmer Tracey Vowell’s career of local food production and perseverance. There's a link to Three Sisters Garden website so you can see if you're in their delivery zone and can place an order.
Bob’s World, and Welcome to It
It’s Wednesday. Thought you could use a bunny photo.
Love you too Bob!
