Watch the Birdie
I was out for a neighborhood walk the other day and happened upon this little cutie, just sitting there, oblivious to the paparazzo. Barb and I did some research and our best guess is that it’s a golden-crowned kinglet. If you’re a birder and know better, let me know.
While we’re on the subject of nature, one more Lake Michigan sunrise for the week. Never gets old, folks.
And finally, one of the neighborhood bunnies, because why let a good rabbit photo go to waste.
Buy Fresh Buy Local IL Spotlights Co-ops
I am pleased to share the link to the latest article I wrote for the Buy Fresh Buy Local Illinois Directory. October is National Co-op Month, and Buy Fresh Buy Local is celebrating with this article about two thriving co-ops at opposite ends of our state: Sugar Beet Food Co-op in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park (that’s their lovely fall produce in the photo above) and the Neighborhood Co-op Grocery in the southern Illinois city of Carbondale.
Click the button below to read all about it, then stay on the site to check out the Buy Fresh Buy Local Directory of farms, farmer markets, stores and other outlets where you can buy fresh, healthy, sustainable and locally produced food.
