Check Out This Week’s Big Stories
Cook Farm Flooded Out: In Wednesday’s issue, we presented the worst-case scenario from the recent torrential rains, as flooding destroyed the crops at Cook Farm near Bloomington, Illinois. Please take a look if you have not yet had the chance, and please consider making a donation of any size (links in the article) to help them clean up and move forward.
Urban Growers Collective’s Local Leadership: In Thursday’s issue, we discussed our visit to Urban Growers Collective’s South Chicago Farm and described how the Chicago nonprofit is a leader in so many aspects of our local food community: urban agriculture, food access, food and jobs, reducing food waste and improving the environment. Please read this first installment in our Seasons of Change series about Urban Growers Collective.
Some more great stuff coming next week… stay tuned.
